Lending a Hand with the Angel Tree

posted Jan 10, 2011 1:29 PM by Rotaract Club of Greater Louisville
Many people are familiar with the Salvation Army Angel Tree program.  You take a paper angel from the mall, buy gifts, and return them.  What many do not know is where those gifts go next.  Members of the Rotaract Club of Greater Louisville volunteered in December at the Salvation Army warehouse to help sort incoming gifts for the Angel Tree program.  Members assisted in unloading trucks, inspecting bags, and adding additional items if necessary.  The huge warehouse on Preston Highway is the central distribution point for the Angel Tree program.  This service event has been a favorite of Rotaract members for three years.
